Brightness levels are excellent and the screen has wide viewing angles with rich colours. This gives the screen a pixel density of 424 ppi - this keeps things on screen pin-sharp. Idol 4 has a 5.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Keep in mind that it takes some time to get used to the key but overall having a customizable key is a great idea and we hope other manufacturers also implement this feature. You can even customize the function of the key in settings from a set of pre-loaded options in settings. On the home panel, it brings sup animated weather effects, in camera mode it enables burst mode and live streaming mode, in music it enhances the output and in gallery it shuffles photos to create an instant collage. The overall look and feel of the smartphone is premium and in our opinion it is one of the best-looking smartphone in the price segment.īoom key deserves special mention as it acts as a one touch button for enhancing the user experience across the native apps and even works as the power-on button for right handed users.
On the left Is the power key which we feel is oddly placed for right hand users while the right side has the volume and a customizable key that Alcatel calls as the Boom key.
